How Artists are Selected for the Market
A committee of selectors in particular areas of Native American art select the artist. New selectors are chosen for the market each year. They meet just once. They review all visual images submitted with applications and select artists based on the quality of the art they see in the images. It is, therefore, crucial that artists submit quality images of their best work. Artists can be rejected based on poor images even though the selectors may know that the artist is capable of better-quality work. The decision of the selectors is Final. There is no appeal process.
